If you already have your treatments in a spreadsheet, you can import them as appointment types in one go instead of adding them one by one.

Before you start

  • Only the clinic owner can import appointment types.
  • Save your spreadsheet as a .csv file. Most spreadsheet apps have a “Save as” or “Download as” CSV option.

Steps

  1. Open the account menu at the bottom of the left sidebar and select Clinic settings.
  2. Under Scheduling, select Appointment types.
  3. Select Import CSV.
  4. Select Download template CSV to see the expected columns, with five example rows. Replace the examples with your own treatments.
  5. Drag your file onto the upload area, or select it to browse.
  6. Check the preview. Each row shows Ready, or the reason it can’t be imported.
  7. Select Import followed by the number of valid types, for example Import 12 types.
  8. When you see Import complete, select Close.

The columns

ColumnRequiredWhat to enter
nameYesThe treatment name
durationMinutesYes15 to 480
priceGbpNoPrice in pounds, for example 75.00. Blank means £0
bookingFeeGbpNoBooking fee in pounds. Blank means none
category, description, locationRoomNoText
bufferAfterMinutesNo0 to 60

Column names aren’t case sensitive, and common alternatives work too: for example duration or mins for the duration, price or cost for the price, room for the location, and Booking fee for the booking fee. Pound signs and commas in prices are ignored.

What happens next

Every imported type is active and bookable online straight away. Rows with errors are skipped, and the rest are imported.

Good to know

  • Every imported type is set to In person, at the clinic. To make a type virtual or a phone call, edit it after importing. See Create and manage appointment types.
  • The import doesn’t check for duplicates. Importing the same file twice creates each type twice, so delete or deactivate any copies afterwards.
  • You can import up to 500 types at a time. The preview shows the first 50 rows.
  • The template also has a bufferBeforeMinutes column. It’s accepted, but only the buffer after an appointment affects the times patients can book.
  • Aesthetic, hide-from-history and VAT options aren’t imported. Set them by editing each type.
