Branding puts your clinic’s logo and colours on your patient portal and on the emails patients receive, so they can tell at a glance that a message is from you.
Before you start
- Only the clinic owner can change branding.
- Have your logo ready as a PNG, JPEG or WebP file under 2 MB.
Steps
- Open the account menu at the bottom of the left sidebar and select Clinic settings.
- Under Clinic, select Branding.
- Under Clinic logo, select Upload and choose your file. If you already have a logo, the button reads Replace. The logo is saved as soon as it uploads.
- Choose a Primary colour. Pick from the colour picker or type a hex code such as
#0ea5e9. - Optionally, choose an Accent colour and a Portal background colour.
- Check the Preview beside the form. It shows a sample portal header, button, badge and appointment card in your colours.
- In Patient portal copy, check that Show clinic branding in email notifications is ticked if you want your logo and colour in emails. It’s ticked to start with.
- Select Save changes in the Unsaved changes bar at the bottom of the screen.
What each setting does
| Setting | Where patients see it |
|---|---|
| Clinic logo | The patient portal header and the top of patient emails |
| Primary colour | The portal header and buttons. In emails without a logo, your clinic name is shown in this colour |
| Accent colour | Badges and highlights in the portal. If you leave it blank, the primary colour is used |
| Portal background colour | The page background of the portal. Text, cards and borders adjust automatically, so light and dark shades both stay readable. If you leave it blank, the portal uses a cream background |
| Show clinic branding in email notifications | When ticked, patient emails carry your logo and primary colour. When unticked, emails show your clinic name in a neutral dark colour with no logo, and buttons use the same colour. Your portal isn’t affected |
What happens next
Patients see the new logo and colours the next time they open the portal, and in every email sent from then on.
Good to know
- To remove your logo, select the bin button next to Replace. Emails then show your clinic name in your primary colour instead.
- Whichever you choose, every patient email keeps your clinic name, address and contact details in the footer. See How patient emails are sent and branded.
- Colours must be six-digit hex codes, for example
#1a2230. - The same page has a Patient portal copy section for your header tagline and welcome message. See Patient portal settings.
- Your clinic name comes from your clinic details. See Update your clinic details.
