Remove a team member
- Owner
On this page
When someone leaves your clinic, remove them from your team. This stops their access and frees their seat, without losing anything they recorded.
Before you start
- Only owners can remove team members.
- You can’t remove yourself.
- If you need a record of what they did, look at their activity first. See See a team member’s activity.
Steps
- Select your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then Clinic settings.
- Under Team & access, select Team members.
- Select the bin icon (Remove member) next to the person.
- Check the name in the confirmation, then select Remove member. Select Cancel if you’ve picked the wrong person.
What happens next
- They lose access to your clinic immediately. If they sign in again, they see You no longer have access to followed by your clinic’s name, and a suggestion to contact the clinic’s owner if they think it’s a mistake.
- If they were an owner or practitioner, their seat is freed straight away. Receptionists don’t use a seat.
- Their past activity and any records they created, such as treatment records or approved answers, are kept.
- The removal is recorded in your clinic’s audit log.
Good to know
- You can remove another owner, but not yourself. To leave the clinic as an owner, ask another owner to remove you.
- Removing a team member doesn’t cancel or move their upcoming appointments. Check Bookings for anything that needs cancelling and booking again with someone else. See Cancel or move an appointment.
- If a removed person comes back, invite them again. See Invite a team member.
- If someone is only away for a while, you don’t need to remove them. Add time off to their availability instead.
