When a patient asks a clinical question, the AI writes a draft reply and the question waits in the Q&A Queue for a clinician. Nothing is sent to the patient until you choose to send it, and it goes out under your name.
Before you start
- Owners and practitioners answer patient questions.
- To send a reply to a clinical question, you need a UK professional registration on your profile: NMC, GMC, HCPC, GDC or GPhC, with your registration number. Without it, Clinicify won’t send the reply. A registration recorded as Other isn’t accepted for this.
- To add yours, open the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar, select My settings > Profile, choose your regulator under Professional registration, enter your Registration number and select Save changes. See Edit your profile.
Steps
- Select Q&A Queue in the left sidebar. Questions nearest their 24-hour target are at the top, and any past it are marked Overdue.
- Select Review → next to a question.
- Read the Patient question, then the AI draft below it.
- Check the draft against the patient’s record. The AI is given only the patient’s first name and their question, never their results, history or medication, so it can’t know anything that’s in the record. Where the draft needs something checked, it says so.
- Choose what to do:
- Approve and send sends the draft exactly as written.
- Edit then send lets you change the draft. When you’re happy, select Send to patient.
- Write fresh clears the draft so you can write your own reply. Select Send to patient when you’re done.
- If you started editing and want the original back, select Back to the draft.
What happens next
- The question leaves the queue and the page shows Sent to patient with the date and time.
- The reply is signed Reviewed by with your name, professional title and registration, so it’s clear who took clinical responsibility.
- The patient is emailed or texted to say their clinician has replied, and reads the reply in their portal under From your clinician, signed with your name.
- The reply and your name appear on the patient’s Timeline tab.
Good to know
- The draft is a starting point, not advice. You decide what the patient is told.
- Clinicify records what you actually did (approved as written, edited or wrote your own) by comparing what you sent with the draft, and keeps the original AI draft for audit.
- The draft carries no note about AI. Once you send it, it’s your reply.
- If a question shows Routing…, it’s still being sorted. Refresh the page in a moment.
- Questions leave the queue only when a reply is sent. There’s no option to close one without replying.
